This 5-week refurbishment project was closely monitored by the local Conservation Office due to the shop being Grade II Listed.  We were not permitted to make many internal changes as most features had to be retained and we could not fix certain walls and floors, even door ironmongery had to be maintained while needing to ensure they complied with current fire regulations and upgrading wiring and data for new modern cash desks was also tricky.

Works Undertaken

  • Asbestos removal in some areas prior to site occupation
  • Decorations including repairing decorative cornice and painting exterior or shop
  • Restoration of existing flooring
  • Upgrade heating system and electrics
  • Installation of display equipment
  • Electrics had to be upgrade to Phase 3 which involved new cables being installed and new meters
